Strange to see that it does not seem to go as fast as mine??...

You have 8.32 gear ratio ?

I was in 3rd gear too in my video....

You're about 5 secondes, i'm about 4 secondes to hit the 8000 rpm..???

I'm going uphill and starting out at lower RPM.

Sure it's difficult to compare as it depends on several parameters.....

It needs to be mounted via a Porsche specialist.
Mine is a Poarche mecanican and dealer for more than 30 years, and he knows what he does. he's an impressiv mecanician and tuning 997 GT3 cup is something usual...

Could you give me a rough idea of costing on this mod? My gearbox will be coming out this weekend on my 997.1 GT3 RS and would love to get more use out of the gearbox as I never need 6th out of my track. Having said that, I do go need to go up to 285kmh on the freeway drive to my track in order to keep up with my convoy and want to make sure I can still hit that speed.... anything above that I dont really need...

Cost will be around 3000/3500$ all included.

8*32 ratio allows you to hit 282 km/h chrono, not more. (around 300km/h on the dashboard)

I think it's perfect for a track use...

Here is an example of using 8*32 gear ratio on the road, with a cool driving....

Piero thanks very much for the info.... this is about all that I need.

Do you happen to know what is the difference between the cup car final drive and the motorsport items that you installed or are they acyually the same thing? Apologies for the ignorance, but my mech is suggesting this to me.

The motorsport gear ratio part IS the final cup car item.

The difference between a cup car and ours, is that in a cup car getrag, each gear box pinion is in a specail material and cost 2000$ each!

But the ratio and the final drive is a motorsport part, so it's used in european carrera cup. (don't know for US championship)

It's the same for Pagid (green color) P50 brake pads, i buy them from Porsche motorsport, so it's the brake pads used by 997 cup in Europe.

Here is my car.

R&P
Cargraphic Kit 3 exhaust
FVD ECU Software

Remove and replace 3.44:1 (31:9) stock ring and pinion with 4.00:1 (32:8) ring and pinion.

Replacing the ring and pinion of the GT3 transaxle with a 4:1 ratio unit retains the original gears and will not result in abnormal noise. Net effects are remarkably similar to changing and replacing transmission shaft gears with highly regarded reliability. WEe use the Porsche Motorsports 996 RSR ring and pinion set for best quality.

Gear MPH
6 172.6
5 147.9
4 122
3 94.8
2 68.5
1 38.7
