Can't decide on a car going insane.....
I am yet to make up my mind about what car to buy. I have pretty much narrowed it down to a 07-08 turbo whit a few miles on it or a 2010 gt3. I've read every comparison out there. I drove the turbo and didn't love it but i would do suspension/exhaust/tune when i got it. Where as the gt3 wouldn't need anything done. My only concern is the gt3 might grow boring in the speed department and i know theres not too much in the way of mods for power. I have not driven a gt3, i think that may be half my problem. Which care will be more fun to drive all the time. I will be trading a 04 996turbo cab for the car(which i do not think is any fun to drive). I have been going crazy debating back and forth between the two. I know i have posted something similar before but i'm really torn on which route to go.

The obvious answer is to go for the GT3
You should describe a little more what usage you will do with the car. If you will track the car there is no contest. If you want to go fast on a straight line (drag racing ?) and have more comfort, then go for the turbo. On the other hand I wouldn't compare an 07-08 car to a brand new, latest technology GT3 like the 2010. Again, no contest.

i own both an 07 997 turbo and a 2010 gt3. prior to the 997t i owned an 03 turbo. hands down, the gt3 is far and away the best car. my turbo has a giac 5 program ecu and other mods but can't keep up with my gt3 on canyon roads. my son was driving the turbo at the last speedventures outing at autoclub speedway. i was leading going on to the nascar banked oval portion and he could not catch me. so...speed is not the issue here. i am sure that in a long straight drag race, the turbo would pull away. however, the experience is so much more visceral in the gt3.
i too have grown bored with the turbo and only drive it to work. but when i get home and get ready to go anywhere, i grab the gt3 keys. i can't tell you how many times i have planned a saturday canyon trip, and then couldn't sleep the nite before in anticipation of the drive to come in the gt3.

you got a case of Turbo envy.....
I went through the same problem, then I drove a 07 GT3...it blew the Turbo envy right down the toilet...
Why must you compare a 10 GT3 to a 07/08 Turbo? I say get a low mileage 07/08 GT3 you will be much happier with your cash flow....and they still offer the same result....no stinkin Turbo envy

I bought a CPO 07 tt, all the right options. Took it to TPC in MD, they flashed it (514hp at rear wheel with perfectly flat torque curve) and put in modified bilstein damptronics, links, and bars. Pretty good compromise and good price as porsches go. My buddy had a RS and he trade up to a GT2. Not taking anything away, but I have more/better power, and a better street car for about half of what he paid (and a rear seat).

I can only say that I never get sick of the acceleration feel in the my 2010 GT3. Natural aspiration is a great thrill, turbo is a rush. You will probably enjoy both, so just go drive them and figure out which you want more.

Hard to say. I got used to my 650hp 997 turbo rather quickly.
My 2010 GT3 was an order of magnitude more exciting and fulfilling than my turbo.
You said it yourself: "didn't love it". Gotta love it, or pass.

the argument of TT vs GT3 always seems to revolve around the power question. you have the wonderful GT3 that just tickles your senses and then the more powerful TT and its modifying potential.
fact is, i have never personally felt the need for more power in my GT3. you step on it and it snaps your neck and the powerband is so satisfying its hard to imagine adding any additional power. it goes ape **** when you want it to and provides a pure, viceral, and involving driving experience along the way.
driving around in it, your hands on the alcantara wheel, sitting low to the ground, the quick reflexes in the controls, the engine playing its symphony behind you, and you know you're driving something special.
you just cant get a turbo to this level of feel and involvement. its a bigger and heavier car.
