Today at 11am a green Porsche GT3-RS lost control and came from the street and crash into a tree. The 39 year old driver and his 40 year old wife dead directly....... very sad and best wishes to teir families...... I have to say that they had to be very fast..... the car looks so bad. And it looks like it had a cage.

New information: "The car bounced off the left side, first against the means of protection plank flung, then over all three lanes and the acceleration in the exit lane before the vehicle crashed against a tree and broke in two."

That is just sad!! I could only imagine the speed they were traveling - well over 100 mph into a tree ... even a humvee will have a hard time surviving at that speed into a pole or tree

The 997's are VERY safe vehicles, so they had to be going VERY fast to cause a fatality. However, I also wonder what happened as it looks like it happened right near an autobahn. I've driven plenty enough miles in Germany to know that the roads are extremely safe and designed for high speeds. I wonder what caused the accident.
My condolences to the families.

These posts are always very sad. Hopefully there are no orphaned children now as it involved a husband and wife.
Condolences to the family.
A very grim reminder of how fun these cars can be but also how deadly they can be if the circumstances allow.
Be safe out there!

I don't think the accident has much to do with the type of car so much as circumstances. Those roads are safe enough that entry level diesel cars can go over 100mph safely, let alone a GT3 RS.
