Only two things to say:
1) This makes you realize that there's no point in buying or waiting for the "ultimate" 911, b/c they will always make a better one. Make the one you buy "yours" and drive it hard.

If Porsche doesnt at least OFFER PDK as an option, they are criminals. I mean look at the quickness of the 997.2 Turbo PDK. IT MURDERS EVERYTHING IT RUNS AGAINST including dumb GTRs

road and track this month tested gtr, zr1, and new tt. overall they liked tt best and why not? it cost almost double. as far as lap times at the nevada track go the tt was the slowest of the 3 but at least not by that much

That test wasn't right! They didn't use the PDK turbo because it would have embarrassed the two other cars!

Some might wonder why Porsche gave us a 6-speed manual test car as opposed to the twin-clutch PDK. Simple: It’s what we requested. Sure, our acceleration times would’ve been a bit quicker with PDK, and maybe we’d have picked up a couple tenths around the racetrack, but then we would’ve missed out on the pure joy of manually rowing through such a light, slick-shifting gearbox—one of the best in the world. - Road & Track

Almost any car is worth 1/2 price after 4 years. Look at any Mercedes, BMW, or Porsche. And 4 years is a long time...

Also the standard Gt2 that costs 200 isnt 100k.. they are still seeing 150's.. they are almost 4 years old..
Porsche holds longer than BMW and MERC always..

and if someone is paying over list to have it RIGHT NOW, they are obviously not in it for the investment. If that is a driving force, I think honda is still tops in resale value... give em a shot?

The GT3 doesn't have a PDK, what makes you think they will put it in the ultimate track going 997 the GT2 RS aka Widowmaker. This car will be an absolutely terrifying beast!
As for the magazine test, the 6 speed 911 Turbo finished last in track times equipped comparatively to the car that finished first. I would imagine its easier to drive at the limits and shift than doing so in a car with a thinly disguised top fuel dragster engine under the hood!

The 997.2 turbo they ran - seemed tight. In fact it posted the exact same acceleration results as a 997.1 turb(0-60, 0-100, 1/4). Go figure. From what I've heard, there's a fairly noticeable difference between the 2. Havent driven the new one.
