GT2 RS at Ring

Being sarcastic.. damn those GTR's... To be honest I want to see a GTR with a 6speed with the same driver vs a 6speed Porsche and then we'll see. The trans makes a crap load of difference that people seem to forget

I'm waiting for the pundits to come in here and talk about how the rear engine in the 911 is maxed out and unbalanced. How Porsche should go with the Cayman (CGT anyone?), and they can't keep up with newer technology with outdated technology.
As if winning Lemans, ALMS and being the winningest chassis in pro racing, winning in every major series it's competed in vs mid-engine, tube frame, front engine and everything else weren't enough.
I'd like to see those guys posting now to tell us how the outdated technology is running away from ALL the supercars MC12, CGT, ENZO, Pagani, Koenigsegg with a smaller wheelbase and still in many case inferior weight to power ratios.
Where are the educators on the fallacy's of the 911 when you need them???

Preach on brother! How about a STOCK GT3 RS competing and finishing the 24 hours of the Ring???? And finishing high! Tell me who else is willing to try that.

IMO that's an even greater accomplishment than the ring time. They finished like 13th right? That's unbelievable for a stock car. You won't see Chevy do that, not Dodge, certainly not Nissan (car probably wouldn't make half an hour nevermind 24 hours).
Porsche has been sitting back with their whipping stick waiting to beat Nissan (and everyone else) up side the head. The 911 is here to stay.
Will be interesting to see what the 918 does. The bar is set EXTREMELY high.

Porsche is a challenging car to drive when you first get into the drivers seat, you basically have to re-learn everything about driving. The car is set up differently than the traditional cars we drive around. The weight is in the exact opposite side of what people are used to.
I certainly had some problems when I started tracking my car, I was saying "what the hell?" to myself... Then as I got used to it, I realized I could brake later and use the weight transfer to turn in the car better. I can turn in later, and the car would still turn unlike FR cars (too much weight on the front causes understeer). I also learned that when coming out of a corner I can punch the throttle and the car would accelerate smoothly and not jerk around.
It certainly is an amazing car when you get used to it, but it is a matter of time...

We will see if I can run that time in Forza 3 tonight with my own rendition of a GT2 RS.

Guys, you can forget all this smugness. Carlos Ghosn is a genius who has put together a group of engineers at Nissan who make Weissach look like a bunch of kindergarten graduates. It's only a matter of time before the GTR, right off the showroom floor in Kalamazoo, goes below 7 minutes. And HC, it's true, the Cayman should replace the 911...
