your proceedure is exactly the same as the other two authorized tech inspection shops (one even stated it is visual only). this one's appears to be the exception. i've never had a pcar driven during a tech inspection for a PCA event either.
I'm just sorry you got taken advantage of like that It's very irresponsible on the shop's part to do that I'm sure it's just one bad apple. It reminds me of Ferris Bueller parking the F-car at the car park....

there was NO paperwork. in the future all who take the key to any of my decent cars will have paperwork with the mileage in and a statement that forbids ANY driving of the car(s) without my express written consent. when that written consent is obtained, it will be with my **** in the passenger seat. any unauthorized driving with be fully prosecuted.
Ben,

To have no paper work and to turn over your keys voluntarily might have been worse. I'm not sure. I guess my point was to warn people about simply signing the work order. Read the fine print. It usually says they can test the car at your sole risk."

I'm with you on this one. This guy was having some fun on your nickle.

Read what you are signing. It usually is not simply authorization to do some work that you are going to pay for. Although I understand this is not what occured in your case. It is a definite heads up to others.

It looks like the CGT is just too much car for a lot of its owners. Owning one doesn't make you a pro driver

Ben that is absurd! I read this entire thread in awe, I would feel incredibly violated for a long time to follow... that guy deserves to lose his "reputation", because it seems like he enjoys doing what he is doing (driving other people's cars carelessly, seems like there are multiple reports). Please let us know if there is any way we can help at all! I would personally give a local well known lawyer a call (possibly free) and explain what happened, they might be a specialist in a simliar area and be able to give you free advice on what you can do with the situation... the ***** deserves something back on his plate.

After reading his quotes on the internet (which were placed after he admitted to the same details on Sunday to my friend who referred me - only he reduced the speed to 115 mph in this version), he left me a message today wanting to get together so he could explain why he hadn't done anything wrong!! I'm telling you the guy honestly thinks his job as a tech inspector is to drive other peoples cars at 150 mph (in corners), hammer the throttle in first geat sufficiently as to cause the "traction control to be worthless", and achieve his best times on his personal race track - hence the "I was able to carry 16 more mph through there than in any other car before". It's simply unbelieveable to me that someone can be in this much denial. It is his attitude that this is not only acceptable behavior but REQUIRED behavior as a result of his job that I feel it is so very important to let other victims know his biz practices because he apparently has no intention to change them.

Want to see his business evaporate?...Call the local TV stations and talk to the consumer reporter. They'd love to tell the story of how a local mechanic takes customer cars for triple-digit joyrides. Especially in this case, since there was no repair done.

i'm not looking to humiliate the guy in front of his friends, family, neighbors, etc. i just want the local porsche/ferrari/and lambo community to know what his biz practices are before they turn their keys over so they can make a more informed decision than i did.

Ben, are you going to meet up with him in person? If you are a bigger guy than him, I would do it just to shake him up a little (but don't touch him lol) to show that you are serious about this **** and that he has made a serious mistake, messed with the wrong person

I'm still so angry and hearing his justifications for the behavior insetad of profusely apologizing and owning what he did might put me in an emotional place that might get me into legal trouble. Therefore, I don't think it a good idea to meet up with him until either my rage subsides or he takes full responsibility for his actions.

I could not resist (especially since the car was not damaged). I use that picture as my avatar on another forum.
