The GoPro also has some distortion of the picture at the edges and as mentioned sound is not great but its adequate for capturing track footage. I will give the Contour a try as well....

You have to buy the universal mount adapter

So which Contour does one buy:

1080P at 30 fps; or
720P at 60fps?

Go for the 1080p. The price difference is minimal compared to the quality upgrade and you can upload on YouTube in 1080p.

PM me if you are interested in selling the Gopro for a reasonable price. I was thinking of picking one up, and sound quality is not a major concern to me.

Thanks for all of your recommendations. After reading and researching the Contour 1080p and the GoPro Hero I decided after careful consideration to place an order for a contour 1080p. I also ordered a few accessories to go with it, the universal mounting kit so I can use my existing camera mounts, a universal wall charger, car charger, windshield mount, 32GB memory card and an extra LI battery. I ordered direct from www.Amazon.com all for under $476.00. I will see how I like it and purchase another one or two soon after. I will post my review as soon as I take it for a test drive. Thanks again everyone for helping me make my decision.

- Mark

Good choice with the Contour HD camera. I have the older model and love it!
