Wow, i'm assuming this is an optional color? Looks great. Is this color considered paint to sample?

Sounds like this car is indeed 'officially' back on the market... The person who ordered it was 'shocked' by the value of his 430 and decided not to proceed.

So $5500 for Guards Red? They consider that custom.... when it's a standard color in the Porsche line up?

It's nothing new... they did the same with Carrara White a couple of years ago. Welcome to the world of Porsche marketing ...And yes, some of us are dumb enough to pay it. (including me).

Ouch... I know if i were ever to fork out $5500 for a custom color..... it's going to be unique definitely not one of the standard colors.

To some, it is 'unique' to have a so called 'standard' color on an RS, which is quite limited in its usual schemes. Paint to sample can be a risky venture when you start getting into 'wild' and 'unusual' colors and it doesn't always end well. Many a paint to sample car has grown stale on showroom floors because the special color just doesn't look 'right' on a Porsche. No risk of that with white, red, or black. All classic and timeless and to some, worth the extra cost. Don't forget that even the ubiquitous grey black is a $3140 up-charge from the only 'standard RS color' (white).

White I would do cause im a fan of it. Red I wouldn't, but that is personal taste anyways.

A pearl white might be interesting. My sti is pearl white and its a bit unusual since 07 was the only year of this body style that had that choice. But i actually prefer it over the regular white.

I hope that he chokes on the car! Colin is the guy who lied to me...sent back my deposit while saying that he was only getting one car. I saw the first car come through. What a lying sack of S&#%.

There is an old long thread on this whole ordeal as it played out.
