Smaller 997.1 GT3/Aerokit front lip?

Is anyone aware of a smaller lip for the 997.1 GT3/Aerokit front bumper?

Here's my situation: I have an 06 C2S and I'm adding an aerokit bumper. For now, I'm leaving the rear end nekkid (no wing). I'm a bit concerned about mis-matched aero, but I'm also lowering the car with coliovers, toe kit, etc. I think the gating factor on how low I can go will be the front splitter for the aero bumper. I think a small lip would solve three issues:
- can go with a lower ride height
- won't need to worry as much about scraping
- won't need to worry as much about mis-matched aero

I doubt I could run without a lip, as it seems like it would look unfinished, but if that wasn't the case, I'd consider it. Does anyone run without the lip?

Another option would be to get one that is scraped up and ready for the trash and send it off to get modified, basically trimming it down to a very thin, but finished look.

Has anyone else had these nutty thoughts? Any ideas for me?

Thanks!
Jack

There was an RS owner who sold his car on the forum, he had trimmed the front spoiler of easy daily use.

I have GT3 bumper on my car and my car is low. The lip is $200, and you can replace it whenever you want... When you learn to take things at an angle the lip lasts you 4-5 months or even longer depending on your use of the car. I drive mine every day!

i have a 2010 gt3, lowered 10mm in front and 15mm rear. after over 10,000 miles, no scrapes. just learn how to drive a lowered car and no problems.

you can cut the lip in half. there is an indent for it right below the brake duct holes.

It takes about an inch off if you cut it that way and it looks perfect if cut right. Thats what i do and i pretty much never scrape.

That's good info above. Interesting that people are doing this...

I know I have the option to drive carefully, and buy new lips as I need them, but I'm looking for other options, hence the thread. Thanks for the info! I appreciate people taking the time to weigh in.

I'm pretty sure that I want to go lower than that. Thanks for the info, though!

Here we go! I'll check that out when I have a chance. I think I'll also start asking around for cheap, used ones that have the bottom half messed up but have the top half salvageable. Thanks!

Cool! Hard to tell from the lighting of the photo and the black car if it has an unfinished look up close. Mine will be arriving tomorrow and I'll be at the shop on Monday to check it out. Either leaving it off, of cutting it in half will solve my issues of being able to lower the car more without scraping as much, and to not throw off the aero as much (both from a performance and an aesthetic perspective)
Thanks!
Jack

You could always go with the lip from the '10 997.2 Sport Front Apron for the S and non-S Carreras. It's still visually different without going full GT3 or RS size. Plus they're painted...
