You could always e-mail damon@tirerack.com. He's on this board occasionally. He has the OE tires for the CS in stock, although the website didn't list them.

Correct me if I am wrong, but from what I have heard, the tires on your car are specially designed for the CGT. For a 440,000 dollar car, I would feel more safe to get the tires from the dealer, and have them install it, even if they charge you an arm and a leg.

Dealers don't make tires - they only sell them (like Tirerack). And of course, with $7k/each rims, I will have them done at the dealer.

I know that, but I heard that Michilin and Porsche worked together to make a tire for the CGT, just as Bridgestone and Ferrari worked together to make a tire for the Enzo.

ben,
surprised those Pirelli are this cheap.

i think Rack stock the PS2 for Porsche & u have to order it with ur VIN. at least that's the case for my customer here. i have one set of PS2 in stock for GT but they're hell lot more than the Pirelli.

Ben, Tirerack does have the PS2's in stock. The front's are available in Porsche N0 and N1 (N0 $299 and N1 $302) the rear's are available but not in the Porsche N-specification, and like the front the rear's are also just an Y Speed rating.

The Pirelli's that you brought up does have the Porsche N-specification but they also have a Y speed rating which means they are good until 186 MPH. So I'll say they are okay to use, but it is not my car so don't listen to me, and get an second opinion.

For more on the Porsche N-specification Tirerack.com

P.S. if your car came with Z rated tires go with them again for certain reasons. But it could also be a mistake on Tirerack's website so get in touch with Damon and get some new rubber for the CGT.
