Nope. Sport Cups are NOT directional or positional. They can run in any direction, etc. I have rotated them around to get extra sessions. Usually your problem comes from the inside of the rears.

I am going to run Hoosiers on my RS this time. Does anyone have an opinion about how the last versus MPSC's?

 

Weird. My set were labeled for direction. Otherwise I would have swapped them as well to save that inside edge. They get burnt up pretty quick at the track.

I could be wrong on the directional. I recall now that we just swapped rights and lefts and not directions. That way the inside was now outside and got some more use on them. Had to do that because tires weren't available at the time for rears that easy when 325's came out in 19's.

 

I believe they are not directional but have an inside and outside sidewall. This allows them to be rotated side to side without remounting. The PS2s I have on my M5 are the same way, making rotation an easy DIY project. Would also be curious if anyone is running Hoosier R6s on 18 inch rims?

 

My buddy Schillster is running those on his GT3. Loves them. I will be running them this weekend. Can't wait to try. My first time on slicks, so I am looking forward to this.

 

Did you need a fresh alignment when you rotated?
Thats great info, did not know that, seems like it might ad 1k or so of life to the rears.

 

Nope. Only did the rears. They wear out faster than the fronts.

 

What's the point of rotating them? The inside will still be the inside and the outside will still be the outside

There's just no getting around the aggressive camber on a 911 and destroying the inner edge on the rear tires when running MPSC

When running regular street tires that were simply directional, I would have the rears dismounted and swapped from side to side to double their life due to that damn inner 1".

 

FYI, R6's aren't slicks A set of slicks would tear all the rubber suspension components in your car to pieces

 

Enjoy, I am sure they will be great. Are you running them on the stock wheels?

 

The tires on the left side of my car wear out faster. I think this is due to the configuration of the track I am running on. Hoping rotation will add some additional tread life.
