hey, how many people were in the Bimmer she was ferrying around with?
Funny situation with those ring ferries hey. I've been there for testing and on weekends they put on quite a show. M
BTW they are the few exceptions with giving way when they see a real race car on the track.

I think that Vette time is for the Commemorative ZO6.

We ALL know a 911 can run all day and all night at the ring....tough track on machinery.....I'd put my last buck on a "veete" coming apart in just a few hours there!...not that I'm partial, mindya

Vette times...

Actually the C5 Z06 and C6 did the same times around the track. I believe the C6 vette also did it with run-flats. When the new C6 Z06 hits the track I bet it will be comparable to the GT2.
The Vette being less reliable than a 911? I don't know but I bet it will be a lot less to fix.

My guess is it's won't be a reliable as the 996 Turbo. Time will tell.

And as for reparis? Have you see an aluminum frame after a wreck? It *breaks*. And it doesn't take much of a hit to do that.

oddly enough, a lot of guys around here have commented on how much more reliable their vettes, ferraris, etc have been than their 996TTs.

We're talking the new ZO6...and it is a substantially more complicated design to build. Additionally, the design and technologies are different than the C5 ZO6.

so then are you expecting build quality and reliability for the vette to decrease or for them to increase on 997TT?

how did the vette get into this thread? the new vette is a nice car, but to compare it to a Porsche Turbo is apples to oranges.

many threads on most car boards start out as X but morph into ______ (whatever ever brand the board respresents) is better than ________ (some other car brand). i think it is some sort of way to measure male organs.

I expect the build quality of the C6 ZO6 to go down, and on those that are built well I expect the reliability to go down.

there was 3 of us, and her...........very friendly girl, and crazy to toss that car around that track the way she does........it was funny, we're hanging on for dear life and she's trying to make casual conversation with us..........can you say 8 minute roller coaster ride!!.............unfortunately no race cars or test cars there that day, only a few Pcars, and Fcars......lots of bikes too...............
and they told us that we couldn't do any filming on the ride, which sucked cuz i wanted to get it on film, but now that i think about it, i probably wouldn't of been able to hold the camera still............oh well, at least i have "lap around the ring" checked off on my things to do in life checklist.....

Ha Ha, I know of that "Chick". Very nice person too
She IS a little nuts! But a hell of a driver there. then again, guess I'm NOT wrapped that tight either.....When I'm in competition mode, Don't anyone think that I bring too much hubris to the table when I go there; Hell, I have had MANY conversations with her regarding the Nordschleif. She adds a lot to the "color"; Ring --a--Ding Ding. M
