Didnt know whether to post this on off-topic of this forum. so figured this forum been a gt3.

my father wants to buy a used GT3 cup car from america and import it to New Zealand to race. any info on the avaliability and with links would be really appreciated. as new as possible 2003+ would be the best way to go but any info would be great. preferably in good condition with most of the major mechanical conditioning having been recently done. car needs to be suitable for the Carrera Cup so i dont think Super Cup cars are elligable.

specific to GT3 cup owners: if you wouldnt mind would you be able to say how much you paid for your cars? PM me if you would like it off the forum as any information is greatly appreciated.

You might be better waiting for next year simply because this is the last year that the 996 cup car is eligable. Expect prices to drop considerably towards the end of 2005.

thats what i told him but he hasnt raced in a while so he wants to get back into it as soon as he can. he sees this year as getting familiar again with the cars and next year would more than likely try and get his hands on a 997 cup car.

Most of the Racer's Group cars have been heavily used, so be very careful with your PPI and take it to a well-know outside source for an evaluation.

 

There is a '02 ex factory Super Cup available in the New York City area. It was driven by Jorg Bergmeister. It may still be available for about $105,000. Check with Michael Klein, E mail address is mbklein@aol.com. Good Luck. I saw the car at Watkins Glen and it pristine.
