New owner 2010 GTS RS So Cal saying hi!
So I just found this forum and thanks for all the knowledge and sharing going on around here! My story is been a car guy my whole life, used to be in the industry and always seem to have one fun car at home. My first Porsche was a 1987 930 Turbo Cab triple black wide body that I owned from 90-94 and sold as we had a few little kiddies running around. I got out of the fun car for about a decade than returned to a mint 87 Buick Grand National, then a 06 screaming yellow Mustang GT, than a 2010 Mustang Roush 427R in grabber blue which was fantastic until........
My middle daughter asked "Daddy can we go look at new Audi's for me" and that was that. I saw the 2010 White/Red GT3 RS in the showroom and started to tremble immediately, I knew I was in trouble. My daughter realized swiftly that her 09 Honda CRV was going back to college for a few years.
I had driven to purchase an 07 Lambo G Egear of a friend of mines a year ago and honestly liked nothing about the car, sorry Lambo owners but not my thing. So I first test drove a standard 2010 Porsche Tip Automatic (thought the wife could get in on the fun) and was so disappointed in the performance and lackluster passion the car offered, remember I drove in a Roush 427R and with all due respect that car was a handful of fun.
I then drove the GT3 RS and that was that. I started saying things to myself like "you worked hard the last 30 years" and "you only live once", those are a salesmans dream thoughts.
Traded the Roush, got the GT3 RS and its been about 45 days, no regrets.
The car is absolutely incredible but you fine folks on this forum already knew this. I hope to meet some of you someday at a breakfast or ride or something.
For now, a few pics
You may notice a few Vespas in the pictures, those are my other wild passion and I dare you to ride one and not fall in love with those also.
I work in Sherman Oaks so somedays the GT3 RS is outfront on Ventura blvd, I stare out the window at it a couple times a day for sure.
Thanks for the forum!!
Best,
SDG

Isn't there a Vespa dealership near Woodman?
By the way nice car.
You should make it out to Supercar Sunday in Woodland Hills. Porsche is this months marquis brand.
