Maintenance questions on the GT3

Hey guys

I was wondering about maintenance costs. Does the GT3 differ from a regular Carrera S? As far as oil, filters, cost, inspection, etc...?

I come from a long line of BMW M's and with the BMW's you get free maintenance (i.e 1200 mile service for M's, every 12k-15k depending). Especially the M's as suppose to a 328i, you get a more detailed inspection when they do oil changes and services.

Is this the same as for the GT3 as well? I want to know typically an average cost to do an inspection.

Thanks
Nino

I don't think so. Seems to be about the same for me so far. Aftermarket parts seem to have a GT3 tax slapped on them though as they are slightly more expensive than its lesser model counterpart. Probably supply and demand at work there.

Just note that per/hour labor rates tend to be higher on the Porsches than BMWs. The dealer here in Manhattan gets $175/hr.

Thats manhattan. 100 square foot apartments also cost 1 million a month

BMW and Porsche have about the same labor rate in my area, around $120 an hour.

In my experience the costs between GT3s and the more pedestrian 997 models are about the same - oil filters, oil, air filters, etc. I change my plugs at 30,000 miles rather than the 40,000 recommended. These are don't need much other than tires.

No difference to my MB or any other car.

If tracked hard, oil changes every 3 track events and every 6 events also gearbox oil, other than that, just the annual 12K service.

Only limited slip differential rebuild costs have been more than a 997S for me

the front rotor you want is either Deman or protosport.
they are 600/pair and last AT LEAST 2x longer than oem

I could make my protosports fronts work for about 30 track days!
