GT3RS Limited Edition

GT3RS Limited Edition
Has anyone heard any information on this topic?
I've read unconfirmed comments that Porsche will build a limited edition (500) 4.0L GT3RS's with 500 bhp.
Said to be June/July 2011 builds. The last of the 997 platform.
Sounds far fetch yet again not unreal with Porsche. There's always a hook.
Also said to be between the TTS and the GT2RS in price.
Who knows. It would be cheaper to get the Sharkwerks conversion for your 997.1 GT3/RS and make the same/better power.
If it's true though, the 4.0L engine would have more potential.

This must be a joke,Porsche has to be more serious with his special versions and clients that look for special versions.
They are making a more powerful car under the same platform during the same series 997.
They shouldn't even made the .2 RS ,only one RS per series!
It seams like they really need money to be alive, really bad aptitude is like the people that bought the 911 Sport Classic and now you can buy the Fuchs wheels, clear tail lights etc and now the GTS that has wide body in a 2WD platform that was only for GT3RS and GT2 and GT2 RS CARS!!!!!!!
They are not tacking care of their loyal clients!

I've read the same thing. Hope its more than a rumor.
Including bolt-ons like the CF hood from the GT2RS, as shown in your PS, is a no brainer.

Interesing rumor...
Anyone knows how the homologation rules work? Porsche is running a 4.0L GT3RSR, does it mean Porsche has to make a number of 4.0L production GT3's on the road for homologation?
Thanks for any inputs.

I don't see why they just make two different version of the RS series in the new series of GT's....end the 997 with the fabulous GT2RS, and come out with a 4.0 GT3 RS with mad potential for modding and track pleasure.

This will nicely position porsche to face off evenly against the audi r8 GT. Combining some additional weight savings with the extra power in a normally aspirated format is right on. Better get on the lists early though. 500 units will sell fast.
