What a difference a year makes.....
Last year, I was looking to order a GT3 (2010) and called Champion to inquire. With my first TWO calls to Champion, no salesman was available and I had to leave a message (3-4 days apart). My phone calls WERE NEVER RETURNED. On my THIRD call to Champion another few days later, I spoke to a salesman who curtly informed me that all 2010's were sold, they were the biggest dealer in the world and therefore got the most allocation so I was SOL....PERIOD....The salesman stopped just short of saying "sorry pal, you'll never get a GT3".
The same day, I spoke to Porsche of Roslyn who cheerfully went over what I wanted to order, took my deposit, and the rest is history....One of the more pleasant car buying experiences ever.
I've owned 8 or 9 911's, purchased over 20 years from several dealers but never from Champion (although I've tried many times). The last time I was physically at the dealership, my wife and I pulled up in her Mercedes, parked right in front (at about 10 AM on a Friday), walked in one end of the showroom and walked all the way to the other end and back (stopping at 3 or 4 models for a couple of minutes each) and NOBODY ACKNOWLEDGED MY PRESENCE...NO "GOOD MORNING", "BE WITH YOU IN A MINUTE", "MAY I HELP YOU" OR "KISS MY ***". Other times I've been to their showroom, I did get help but was treated like I was trying to buy a puppy and "maybe we'll let you buy one".
Has there been a changing of the guard at Champion or am I just some sort of leper?

I guess I don't qualify as a "big talker"...unfortunately for me, more like a "big spender". If I hadn't spent so much money in my life on *@%&ing cars, motorcycles, trucks and watches, I could probably have retired by now. My wife has a good laugh everytime I trade cars and proudly announce "I'm Done!"
Overall, I'd have to say that about 80% of my car buying experiences have been positive and have made friends out of the process a couple of times. I once had a Mercedes dealer that I thought was going to do the old "throw the keys on the roof" trick and a BMW dealership where I couldn't get waited on. My wife had the hots for a 6 Series convertible so I stopped by a local dealer to take a look. I was driving a 6 month old Hummer H1 Open top (MSRP about $115K) and I had another leper experience there (not quite as bad as Champion, though). Don't know about you folks but if I sold cars that cost $30K-$80K and a guy driving a $100K+ vehicle stopped in, I'd be on him like "white on rice".

rwgrif: For me, I don't like sales people bothering me. I would rather walk in and see the cars without being bothered or pressured. I find in most cases, I end up knowing more about the cars than the sales staff. And I typically know what I want and only go to dealers to see a specific car(s). Or sometimes I just cruise and check their inventory for gems. In all cases, I prefer to not be bothered and only get a sales person if I want to test drive a car or if it's locked and can't sit inside on my own. Rarely have I walked into a Porsche dealership and not been approached by a sales person. So for me, your experience at Champion is one I would prefer to have while shopping for a car.
As for OP, that is one nice GT3. I love white. Perfect for daily driver. Too bad I just got a new daily. GLWS.

And back to the car, this one is almost identical to my GT3 (with the exception of the seats) and it is awesome. Hopefully, someone will talk to the right salesperson at Champion (since it appears they DO exist there!) and scoop this beauty up. Next time I'm in Pompano, I'll look Larry up and say "Hello"

Larry Reynolds has been my guy in sales for a long time. He's been there a very long time, not one of these "here today gone tomorrow". He's a real enthusiast of motorsports. Back when I had more time I use to stop by and just shoot the $h!t about Porsches with him.
Another great guy who use to be at Motorsport division and now is at the dealer is Shiraaz. A total standup guy and has helped me immensely over the years.
At Motorsport Justin is my pointman, another great guy and Vic in the back ... outstanding.
One more, Louis Milone, what can I say. They just don't come better nor SMARTER! A great human being who knows his business and I can say this soundly because we've know each other since 1995.
All this and I'm just a jobber, a low working dog and one of their elite customers.
Cheers
