I did fourteen track days last year in my 360 Modena, M3 and the 997 that replaced it. The '02 Ferrari has 10,000 miles on it and I'm on my third set of tires and third set of brakes.
I came to this conclusion: If you want to race--get a race car. I love the GT3, but I hear it's brutal as a daily driver. I just purchased a Formula Renault for $27,000. It's virtually new, bullet-proof, and now I can go faster than any street car and not worry about paint chips or a $40,000 Ferrari engine rebuild. Of course it's got to be towed.

I bought a formula mazda for the same reasons. Nothing like an open wheeler or sportsracer to make a production car feel like a pig. If you put it into the tire wall, you just bought a new $1,000 nose instead of $xx,xxx worth of repairs. Plus you have the benefits of a full cage. The down side is tires. I've spent enough on tires to finance a pretty good crack habit.
