help with track wheels 6GT3

I got some CCW C10s for my 2004 996 GT3. Guys at CCW advised 9 x 18 with Nitto NT-01's 245/40 and 12 x 18 315/30. I haven't done the track suspension set up yet and they already rub a bit. What is everyone running?

Thanks.

I run Volk TE37 18 x 9 and 18 x 11 with 245/35/18 and 315/30/18, your wheel and tire sizes sound correct.

i have 997 C2 car but all suspension parts are GT3 , not sure if 996 gt3 has same body sizes.
i run ccw c14 in 18x9 18x12, rubber is 265 front 335 rear. no rubbing, fronts fit was extreme so i had to turn upper mounts a bit to move wheels inside a bit to clear fenders better. camber is -3 front -2.7 rear.

9 X 18 front and I would run 11 X 18 rear with 245/315 NT01's 12's will fit but are tight and IMHO not necessary.

i bet 1, your ride ht is too low 2, you dont have enough camber. go more aggressive than -2 for sure.

i run CCW C10 9.5 and 12"
255/35/18
315/30/18
moton shox
no rubbing

I'm with Mooty on our alignment if you rub.

Thanks everyone.

Mooty, ride height/suspension settings are US stock to the best of my knowledge. Never been adjusted. Will be lowered later this week. There is mild rub in anterior front wheel well plastic guards in turns that are not lock-to-lock. You can see the marks from the outer shoulder. We'll see what happens with track camber, toe, height changes.

Both mechanics I have spoken to expressed concern that the wheel size is a bit too much. On the other hand, I hear people say this is what they run and they roll the fenders.

I am curious with aggressive camber and suspension excursion at speed over changing road inclination if I'll get impact on the springs from the upper wheel/tire?

DHI,
Still waiting on car to be finished. Suspension set up hasn't been done yet, but my mechanic sent the 9's back and put the 8.5s on. Kept the 12s. I'll update when the suspension is done with the settings he used.

Mooty,
Maybe it's the 40 I have in front. You have 35s. That might be enough for a little rub?

Just ran the 235/40 8.5 CCWs in front with Nitto NT-01s after track suspension set up. Minimal rub. Kept the original 12" rears. No prob with those. Car handles nicely.

I would kept the 9.0 up front ... just my 2 cents.

According to Mooty I could even have kept 9.5s up front, but the 9s were rubbing. Maybe it was the 40 sidewall rather than 35? Nevertheless, my experienced mechanic was not into it, what could I say? Maybe I'll try 245 or 255/35/9s in the future. Set up seems fine now.
