I bought this before I even got my 996 and it's great. Easy to put together and stays put and so far no nasty note from the HOA that I need to remove it.

+1 more vote for this - I have it and it saves the lip. They can be permanently installed or removed.
Especially if you have a painted lip. These are also sold by local dealers so you can get better price and avoid high shipping cost.

here is the maker - http://bridjit.com/

Well, some research revealed this Porsche Part # 997 505 983 90.
It's for the Cup spoiler, while evidently is even lower, but seems to be more flexible & forgiving Anyone have one?

Race ramps with make anything, any shape or contour just submit your drawing. They are light and simple to move around.

No affiliation I just use their product on all my trailers.

yes, cup spoiler is a bit lower and more flexible.
because of the flexibility it won't get cracked or ripped easily when you hit something,
but since it's softer it'll get chipped off or scratched easier.
you can get one with duct for brakes, or one without.
it'll give you more aggressive look, but it makes the ride height almost too impractical for streets.
i tried one just for the look and fun of it, but after 2-3 mo. it got completely trashed and i came back to the stock ones.

i buy the stock ones from here-
(you can also order cup ones by contacting them...)

and i got my old cup spoiler from here-
