why no supercharger for the 997 gt3
since we all know that a s charge wont play with carcteristic of the engine and give more hp and torque and alot of companies have succeeed in developing kits for the 997 na platform ,, why no one did it on the gt3

probably cause there isnt much of a market for it. Most people love this engine and want to leave it NA and keep the weight down as much as possible. Although I would like to see it done, reving to 8500 with a blower would be sick and could easily add 150-200hp.
There have been turbo kits developed by 9ff, I assume it is very expensive and IMA motorsports but hasnt been released, seems like it disappeared but they had a couple cars with the system i believe.

How do you know it wont change the characteristic's of the motor? Usually FI motors run a smaller compression ratio then NA motors. It would be cool to see I suppose, but I don't think it would sell enough to justify the R&D.

If you want more squeaks buy a Corvette.
If you want more leaks buy a Corvette.
Lets go, everybody sing along.........

Although the idea sounds great in theory, I personally think it would wreck the aura of the GT3. The weight distribution and throttle response would be 'off'.
Get a GT2 if you want insane power

997 GT3 plus SC=BOOOOOOOOMMMMMM

To make significantly more power with a supercharger (or turbocharger for that matter), engine compression ratio would almost certainly have to be lowered. That has got to affect engine response when the forced induction does not come into play. Plus Porsche has never supercharged any of their production vehicles, so it would be sort of uncharted territory for them (not that it couldn't be done technically). With the push these days towards higher engine efficiencies (aka fuel economy), turbocharging makes more sense than supercharging.

If one wants more NA power, the best sound solid bullet-proof set up is the Sharkwerks 3.9L conversion.
So lets go kill some vettes around the track.
The FI thought for the GT3/RS seemed okay but IMHO after thinking like a purist for the GT3 breed it would be an "obamanation". Oh and ya'll know how well that "genius" (cough cough) is doing.
