Difference between TT and GT2 Trans?

I recently sold my 08 TT with a short shifter installed and bought an 08 GT2 and the trans seems much stiffer when making a shift. It is smooth but it requires a real firm action to get it into gear, as if the synchros where different for a racing environment. Is anyone familiar with this difference?

It is due more to the clutch than tranny. TT has the accumulator....hydraulic assist. Makes the pedal feel light. GT2 is manual. More pedal force required...."feels" more manual...you feel more "engaged." Make sense?

The difference in sensation is not due to the difference in the clutch. The clutch is definitely more mechanical feeling without the hydraulic assist. When the clutch is fully disengaged, there is still a more mechanical feel to the shifter. I don't think that it is in the linkage but I was wondering if the synchros are different or if the gears are cut differently to make them stronger for more aggressive driving.

Excluding the clutch/flywheel assembly, PET lists two different transmission designations for the 997TT and GT2.

Gear ratios are definitely different...3.15; 1.89; 1.40; 1.09; 0.89; 0.73; 3.44

Doesn't the GT2 have a "short shift" or "sports shift",which has a shorter movement than standard but also, consequently a heavier feel?Don't some other Porsches also have a sports shift option, which is shorter, but also heavier?
