Do you guys think a 265/35R18 BFG-R1 will fit at the front?? I am running that tire on my M3 front with 18x9 wheels.
According to BFG, the 265/35R18 BFG-R1 is approved for 9 inch wheels. This is the absolute minimum. We would feel better putting them on a 9.5.
The greater question is, is this the correct tire for your car? Most track guys are running 245s, some 255s. if you have lots of track experience with these cars and KNOW what you want, no problem.
I recommend posting questions to some of the hard-core track junkies on this site about what they use and what they know works.

BTW, which car did you order?

255 is going to be the limit for track use, all tough you could probably fit them.

I ended up ordering the GT3RS with PCCB, light weight headlights, radio delete, but did not go for the AC delete since my dealer convinced me that without AC the car would be very difficult to trade in.

I thought about the 265/35 R18 front since I have two barely used sets (from my M3 front) and in racing they use close to 300 at the front. So 265 front should not be too wide.

The Tech1-110 18 inch fronts weigh about 7.1 kg and the rears 8.6 kg. The offset and finish you choose will affect the finished weight.

There are many tire choices, each with a different weight. Tire rack has many of the tire weights listed on their site.

Some choices for 18x9 front:

original 245/35 R19 diam 25.8

Hoosier R6 diameter
275/35 R18 25.5"
255.36 R18 24.8
BFG R1
265/35 R18 25.0
Kumho v710
245/24 R18 25.7 closest to original
Some for the rear with 18x12

Rear original 325/30 R19 diam. 26.7
Hoosier R6
345/35 R18 26.8
335/30 R18 25.6
BFG R1
335/30 R18 25.7
Kumho V710
345/35 R18 26.8

I have good experience with BFG R1, they actually last realatively long compared to the Hoosier R6, however the Hoosier seems to have better original grip and maybe better resistance to heat cycling. The Kumho V710 I had only one set for the front and seemed very good grip but somewhat softer than the BFG-R1 (sidewall).
i would not go with larger diameter than the original, and also would try to keep the diameter ratio between front and rear close to the original. My plan is to try 265/35 front and 335/30 rear and take it from there.

Mike,
Thanks for the PM! I still cannot send one back!
Anyway I will surely order a set from you! I want to have the car "almost" here when I do that. If I just order it now, my wife will know that a new car is comming, and well, would cause some domestic disturbance.

I really understand the Domestic Disturbance issue. All of us married guys have it to some degree.
No worries about the Tech1-110 18s. This is a standard part for us and we now keep them in stock (with no paint) for quick delivery. Two weeks is usually the turn. Just pick a finish and they're on the way!
BTW, my regular email address is always in my signature so you can contact me that way anytime.

We can do many different finishes on these wheels.
Most popular (no surprise) is our proprietary Hard Anodized finish. It adds no weight to the wheel and is hard as hell. In fact, our Hard Anodized finish is one of the hardest substances known to man. Won't scratch, peel or corrode.
Highly UV resistant.
We also do 3-stage paint (primer/color/clear) to achieve the color combinations requested by many customers. This paint is OE quality and will survive a 200 hour CASS test (gold standard for corrosion resistance).
These finishes are provided at no extra charge.

Premium finishes:
Brushed with Clearcoat $300 per set
Full Polish with Clearcoat $500 per set
COLOR MATCH: $500 per set and up. Some OE paint costs $600-$800 per gallon and is only available in gallons. PM me for quote.

Thanks for all the support! Special thanks to all you guys who placed orders this week. Hope to see your pics here on 6Speed soon.

Just to reconfirm to everyone, the Hard Anodized finish is one of our standard finishes. NO EXTRA CHARGE! It is extremely hard and adds no weight to the wheel whatsoever.
Therefore, the anodized finish is recommended for those who want the absolute lightest wheel we make.

Thanks again for all of your amazing support!

Mike
