2 brand new white ones in Dallas.

No more orders. Finally, the market will stabilize.

Thanks for updates.

I'm looking at GT Silver; Axle lift, Engine mounts.....
I've seen a few ones listed.
BTW: Any "money in the trunk" or only applicable to 911 C/CS?
I have no problem paying MSRP but if "the market" has them being discounted a bit I'd like to know. TIA
I do about 12-14 track events a year and drive the car on weekends. I thought about the GT3RS but it seems a bit gauche in public.

I think you should be able to get about 3% off MSRP...maybe more. The problem is that there have only been about 111 GT3s sold in the USA since March 2010 as compared to 397 GT3 RS's. They are relatively rare. My guess if a dealer has them sitting on the lot, that they will be able to give you some kind of discount. I would ask for 7% off and see where it goes from there. BTW, skip the front axle lift - not great for the track and you can replace the front splitter at least 20 times for the price.

KYROCKS. Thanks for the Axle Lift info Your data on GT3 vs RS is quite interesting. I would not have thought the RS would be that popular. wow.

I think that the original value in an RS is definately there, especially if you track. Historically, I don't see any better residual value compared to GT3. New, $20k more, used should retain most of the delta, but not all.

Porsche produced about 539 GT3s (Mostly 2010s and a few 2011s) and roughly 385-390 (I thought) 2010-2011 RSs.

I am confused by KYROCKS statement. To date there have been over 500 2010 and 2011 .2 GT3s sold. I don't know where the 111 number came from; since March 2010 maybe but what does that matter, no insult intended.

Porsche of Silver Spring in Maryland still has a new Black one on their show room floor. I saw it a couple of weeks ago when I orderd my Cayenne. I know they had to have a Orange and Black RS not sure if it was snatched up yet though.

No insult taken. I just have the numbers from March and on, that's all.

Am I correct in that the GT3RS still has allocations?

If that is the case, I would have thought the RS would be VERY limited in production vs.
GT3 would be made more available.

Insight is appreciated.

Yes, there are still 2011 GT3 RS allocations left and no 2011 GT3 spots. The current model GT3 came out a few months before the RS so it has been around relatively longer. The RS will probably be available for a few for months more too.

To say that the RS is very limited is not exactly true. Yes, compared to a camry or accord, both these cars are limited, but in fact there will be almost equal amounts of 997.2 GT3 and GT3 RSs sold when allocations are all said and done (probably slightly more GT3s around I assume).

Both are great cars - tailored to slightly different people.

There are no GT3 or RS allocations left to the very best of my knowledge. More GT3s were produced compared to the RS; roughly 540-550 to < 400, respectively. Although the RS began after the GT3 does not mean the RS will be produced longer. As I know it allocations handed out cease as of Dec 2010 for each model..

I guess I don't understand what numbers sold from March 2010 as you state represent? There have been over 525 GT3s sold as of Nov 30th 2010 since released July 2009. There are maybe another 20 or so new ones at the dealers to the best of my knowledge.

To the OP, yes the RS is more rare per se, however, not so much at the moment as there are more than 20 available but less than 550 or so GT3s produced. You might find a buildable/changeable slot at a dealer somewhere, but I believe they end/or get locked on or about the new year.

I just (on Saturday) ordered a GT3RS, and talked to several dealer before about the GT3 and GT3RS. Non had any problem ordering them. I was told my GT3RS - will be delivered in April will be a 2012 model.
I think both cars are available all over the country.
