I had full custom headers and exhaust.. exhaust and a tune is the only way to really gain power on these cars without increasing displacement etc...

although for the money I would rather a lwfw and a ring and pinion than any exhaust
I may take your advice on the lwfw. I spoke to protosport in new jersey today and I liked what I heard about the mod. I'd also change the motor mounts.

I'd like to get this work done but want to get some references on Protosport first. Thanks for the advice.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Europipe. I'd like to pick one up in the future.

protosport is a great place-a lot of people in the NNJ area use them for both performance and maintenance... they are also a NNJR PCA sponsor-definitely a great place

i never even cared to know - how much approximately a used Sharkwerks 3.9L costs these days if one surfaces up for sale anywhere?

i hope my m96 will serve me well at least 3-4 seasons but realitically when it will finally blow it opens some field for an another improvement. typically people seem to install a x51 m97 into NB 997.1 tubs, but I guess a 996 gt3 based motor should fit there as well?

my car has the full system, headers, cats & cans.

they were all fitted by the previous owner, who was the distributor for Fabspeed.

i actually just rang him on the phone, and the car was dyno'd before & after exhaust, and apparently picked up 40kw. im going to have to get me a copy of those dyno sheets though.

i really need to get a video camera so i can get the sound recorded for you guys. i seriously have never had a car with so many people comment on how it sounds

With the 6gt3 as we found out the engine internals (and other parts) are not the same as the 7's and so with everything we could do we did manage to get 430+rwhp (470 crank).

But... with the 997gt3 gear and the race exhaust it did sound good:P

We've got one going on a GT3 shortly and it'll sound so much better than on the 996 non gt3 in that vid due to the motor and the way she revs/sound
