It would surprise me if they came down to low 70's for that car. Maybe mid to high 70's.

I just purchased a black/black with 2,500 miles 2007 with PCB and CPO for 84k. Might have been able to get a couple thousand more out of them but didn't want to risk it since it was the exact car I wanted.

Yeah that deal fell through. They are still asking low 80's on a car with base options and no warranty. I would have bought the car if they agreed to 74k. Oh well i will keep looking.

There is truth is what Salespunk, YoopsRacing and vbmw335 are saying about .2 gt prices.

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national

The example above is not wholesale pricing. That is a realistic price from a motivated seller. Wholesale is now even less. And wholesale is what, at maximum, dealers will give you in trade-in value. Manheim .2 gt3 auction prices, if any on the next few months, will confirm this accelerated downward trend in wholesale prices.

A similar phenomenon is happening in the .2 RS market. Some knowledgeable forum members (like NJ-GT in Rennlist) are certain that wholesale pricing on .2 RS's right now is just below $100K. There seems to have been (in recent months) a slower depreciation rate on the .1 gt3 and RS's, since most of these cars already took the largest chunk of their depreciation in the past year and there is always a larger buyer pool as cars are perceived as more affordable (e.g. $70K's for .1 gt3). As YoopsRacing states, this is a great time to buy a second hand gt3, especially a .2 example! z356

There is a black 2010 GT3 on Autotrader with 1800 miles for 98.5k. It has sport buckets, and few other options. I spoke to the owner and it sounds like a no-issue car. That is the lowest priced 2010 GT3 out there.

^^ With ONE (1) person asking $98.5k for his car while the rest of the used retail market is priced at $110k or higher doesn't mean that mid $90s is the current "motivated" seller price. With Jan. fast approaching and spring only a three months away used (moderately optioned) GT3 prices will not fall much, if any, further until June 2011. The 991 GT3 will not be out for another 2 1/2 years or more and any current allocations will dry up very soon. Wholesale doesn't matter much as most of us can't buy wholesale. Used .1s are still bringing upper $70s to low $80s. PCCBs don't add much if anything to the residual. When the .2s hit the mid $90s, .1s will be $25k less. We're not there yet.

The car above does not have DEM and is low optioned. It is optioned more towards the track guy with the buckets but lacks the mounts. The seats do not suit the street driver very well yet it lacks full leather which the street guy typically likes. Just my 2 pennies.

Seems to me the prices are dropping big time....anyone selling a 10 for under 100k is a firesale...regardless of options.
From now until June they will still fall.....then after June they will fall like a ton of bricks.....just like last year.... I hate to think about what a 10 or 11 owner who preordered is losing....or what I have lost on my .1GT3 from a year ago....and approx 4k miles of use. Screw it just buy and drive

If you're a return Porsche buyer at same dealer you can have a '10 gt3 for 90-95, I have seen it myself via friend.

I am tired of looking around for 997 .1 Gt3 (most have some stories , no warranty)...looks like for 15k more i can get the 2010 with warranty and get tax benefit of purchasing from a private party. IL has a 1500 flat tax for private party purchases.

No brainier...i am going to wait out for the 2010 Gt3 to drop in 95k range.

There is no better car in the market than 2010 Gt3 for the next 3 years...so the delta of 15 k maybe worth.

Any thoughts?

It is a fire sale and not indicative of the market. As far as a ton of bricks, I guess that depends on your meaning of the phrase. I don't see that happening at all. I could have bought 2 different well optioned .1s (< 3500 miles) for the upper $80s two years ago. Prices haven't fallen that much on those cars.

Let's talk again in March. Median prices will still be > $100k.

Why because it supposedly happened once to your friend for a car we know nothing about for which he likely paid more for. The post is rather silly.

you should be able to find a 997.1 7 0r 8 with < 6000miles with CPO, no stories, no problem. Prices should be 80-90k ...no CPO 70-80k...I would wait and buy a 10 though

The price difference between the 997.1 and 997.2 GT3 is around $25k. And the difference between 996 GT3 and 997.1 GT3 is around $20K.

The price of the 997.2 GT3 will be supported by the 997.1 and 996 GT3s. I do not see any drastic future price drops happening.

Makes sense. That's why i am now leaning towards a 2010.

How do you like the 2010 compared to your 997.1 GT3? do you find the extra $$ justified ? appreciate any input you can provide.
