Also its spares you from driving to the track and getting a flat on the way, and there goes your whole weekend and $$
Yup, a lesson we all learn.
Looking good Mike! Truck and trailer that is, not the view of the garages at LS
PS a tow from LS to S. Ca. or to Reno would be close to $1000. Could always try and get a contracted hauler I suppose, if they could be convinced to load up a wrecked car, and you had x number of days to arrange for transport.
Getting someone to to do the haul immediately you get financially raped.

Watched it and oopsie! Hmm just wondering, looked like you hit the burm pretty good and perhaps the wheel/car got a bit airborn and triggered the traction control and shut the throttle body as it does in those situations (even when off). I've learned over the years that any 996 or 997 with E-gas and traction control/PSM systems go haywire when airborne Heck even the 996GT3 that doesn't have PSM cuts power with the throttle body in that sorta situation. Anyways glad you got away with it

Dovetails and 6" ramps help tremendously. I tow with my 4.4i X5, and it's fantastic. Mine has the auto-leveling rear air suspension (which I highly recommend for towing), so the rear always rides at the correct height, thus the handling is extremely good, and that's with ~5000lbs behind it.
For those who don't want a "truck" or a diesel X5, any of the V8 X5's are a great alternative.
Gas mileage is the least of my concerns, I just wanted a tow vehicle that can stop well, handle a load well, and protect the investment behind it. Whether I get 12mpg or 18mpg doesn't really mean much to me.

Just a quick update on my Race Ramps. I ordered the 2-piece RR-TR-5 a couple of months ago and finally got a chance to use them today. They worked perfectly for my lowered 997.1 Turbo on a Featherlite 3110 with standard 6' ramps. Fred ( with Racelogic ), thanks for all your help and I highly reccomend this product as it works as promised.
Thx.

Fred, I did do a little checking on some measurements. My front lip is approx. 4.5" off the ground. The lowest part of my side skirt is approx. 4.5" off ground. I didn't measure the exact clearance I had, but the guy who was spotting me indicated clearance of approx. 1"...pretty close, but no scraping at all. And no I did not place a piece of wood/shim between aluminum ramp and the raceramp as you thought I might have to. Really a great product...light, strong, easy to use.
