Report: Next Porsche 911 GT3 To Get PDK-S Dual Clutch, Drop 200 Pounds

The weight savings is total bs, guarantee it 100%... there's no way their going to reduce 200lbs in a street car for a car that is already relatively spartan and light. Think they added an extra 0 lol.
PDK ehhh, yeh it's smooth, it's fast... but I and I'm sure 98% of the others like the raw connected feel of a manual trans, not flappy paddles.

Quote from Wolfgang Durheimer regarding PDK in GT cars.
Just read this quote from Wolfgang Durheimer in Evo magazine. He spent the last 10 years as the head of R&D at Porsche and now oversees all VW group racing activities.
"For our street cars, PDK is the right solution, but for racing you only need performance, so a sequential change is better as it has less weight(around 25kg less) and there is no need for comfort. Our difficulty is that the GT cars are right in the middle of this sandwich, so the question is where do we go? If you ask me a good way to go is PDK. We would have to accept the extra weight but you would gain being able to drive on the road better and still be very fast on the race track. Engineering needs to get some weight out of our PDK system before we use it on our GT cars. This is the way to go."
