M96/97 engine 997 GT3?
Setting aside the RMS leak issue, how is it possibe there will not be a dry sump lubrication system in the 997 GT3? Has this been confirmed? The new Z06 will have a dry sump and, Porsche is moving away from it!!!??? I had an e36 m3 and, had to put baffels in the oil pan so the motor wouldn't tick at the track. I swore my next high performance car would have a dry sump. The most insideous thing about oil starvation, is that you can't see the damage that is being done. It's no minor issue and, I can't believe Porsche would GUARANTEE engine damage to the ultimate track day car by removing the dry sump. I find this possible development very, very disturbing.

Lets all wait and see shall we. It is not much longer now until the full specification is announced. Just think, if it is a dry sumped car everyone will have to come up with another reason to hate it and if it doesnt have a dry sump just think how much you GT3 is going to go up in value!!!!!
Either way we will now by May.

I thought porsche had a track oil solution for the M97/97 that prevented starvation, but since it was available only through porsche racing, it voided the warranty. Maybe they'll just make that standard in the new GT3 and warranty it for "non-track" use since as Ben points out, tracking your car voids the warranty...
