Carrera GT at Pioneer Centres for sale (San Diego)
Stopped by to get a few parts for my wheels and they have an "extra" GT on the showroom floor.
Said they sold one, had 6 on order and this was "extra"
I believe it was Silver Metallic. But the tears of be not being able to afford even the tires where blurring my vision....
Figured someone may be interested.

Yeah I thought it was pretty odd that a salesman refered to the car as an "extra" car. Like why not call someone on the list who had ordered a GT and offer it to them? Unless the 6 he said were ordered had very specific charateristics....
So ben. lj, how does that bit of history you have drive? Can you actually put in into words?

Congrats on the car.

I love to fish, have a nice boat and am good at it

I was told the CGT sitting in the front showroom at Pioneer in SD was ordered by a customer who could not take delivery of the car due to financial reasons. I was interested in the car but not the $100k hit I'll take driving it off the lot!
I'm not a big fan of silver anyway

It's not that I wouldn't be planning to keep it. I'm a very patient person and can wait til the right time to buy. If you can pick the car up for under sticker in the showroom compared to $50k+ above sticker for a 430, that's not a good sign. I think within the next year prices will come down to at least the mid-300's regardless of Euro rate. Domestic rates are rising anyway which will strengthen the $. Aren't there import taxes in the EU for bringing in a foreign bought car? That would make any arb opp less attractive.
In the meantime, I've got a '05 CT coming next month and would like to pick up a GT3 in the near future for the track. I've got to decide on a street car with new suspension(JRZ's) ,fuel cell, and cage or a GT3cup. Any suggestions are appreciated

Get a Cup for a Track Car... Dont waste your time trying to build one( .......... Its not worth It.. And a converted street car is still just that a converted street car...
I can attest to Ben's "Cotton Mouth" experiance in the CGT... But my experiance is more of the wobbly knees thing LOLOL... The CGT is like no other experiance everytime I drive it... Its like falling in love with the hottest , smartest, sexiest, woman all over again........... and again , and again , and again and again.. See where this is going
Its the type of car that no matter who you are , what you drive , fly or navigate you give that car respect...............
Hope that helps................

Not have logged many hours in exotics, its pretty exciting to hear you guys describe the ride.
Top cars I have driven would be the new S4, 540ia, and probably my favorite car being a stock 1997 TT Supra...
My most exciting ride was in my close friend Pantera GT5-S
Thanks for the feedback

Bentley and Ben are correct in their descriptions. I'll add that on my drives this past weekend I went to 2 car dealers (Porsche and Mercedes), nothing but love and the utmost respect for this phenomenal piece of automotive history from true enthusiast. Great conversations with real "car guys" (& prospective customers of the noted brands).
It's a real thrill everytime the ignition if fired up.I have to give Walter Rorhl his props for keeping the visceral development (& handling) on point.
As stated many times on this and other forums "cars are not investments". Enjoy the ride (of life).
