I recently bought a 2004 GT3. The manual says it has lifetime coolant, but my mechanic says change it every 5 years. Panorama has a tech Q@A this month that says the coolant if lietime but "it does not allow for contamination" My car's coolant has never been touched. What are folks out there doing?

 

I would change it at least every 30k..but I'm old school

 

No such thing as lifetime anything on these cars.....................with the one exception being fun!!

 

I purchased some ACUSTRIPS that test the level of corrosion protection. My 02 Boxster S showed marginal at 7 years so I changed it. My 04 GT3 is still looking good. The additive package for lubrication and corrosion protection is what goes away over time.
