4.0 RS or 430 Scuderia?

I don't think there will be a right answert to this...everyone has their own opinions and for many that is biased based on what they drive/own...
no matter which one OP chooses he cannot loose...lead with your heart OP...your wallet is sure to follow

Well i disagree. That is your personal opinion.. I have driven Many cars from Porsche and Ferrari , they are on the same performance level in my eyes. I personally prefer the Porsche and enjoy driving my car more. I just drove a Scud over the weekend and it is a purely amazing car it really is. But i Like my car better, and its faster :]
You are right it is my opinion PORSCHEBOY but my opinion is based on being the owner of both Ferraris and Porsches including a 997.2 Turbo with PDK so don't talk to me about fast. Fast is very overrated.
So I am giving my opinion based on real world experience with the hope of helping the OP make a decision. Not just because I drove the car for a weekend.
Don't get your panties all wrinkled because it seems like you are taking it very personally and have something to prove because you own a Porsche....WHOOPIE !! Unfortunately some guys have their whole identity tied to their cars. I don't.
I couldn't care less what the OP decides to buy. It is his choice and his alone and I wish him well with whatever he chooses.

RS. The Scud is not as special, won't hold it's value, is not as user friendly for the occasional drive around town. The RS is a rare piece, is something I suspect you could hold on to forever (vs. the Scud - which will be superseded by a 458 Scud) and will be worthy of superlatives for a long long time.
Scud is a rare and special car just as the 360 Challenge Stradale, every generation extreme version of the normal road going car is amazing. Only downside to me is the transmission. Ferrari all day over the GT3

i wonder if the original poster is still reading this thread - hope so.
Anyway from a post you made it looks like you have a 3.8RS. sure the 4 is more, but i a lot of things are going to be the same. Because a lot is the same I am not sure you will get that much more excitement out of it.
the scud will be very different from the 3.8 and you will have more new things to play with giving you a more changed driving experience.
On a side note if you can keep the 3.8 and get the Scud well I think you have your answer! A 3.8 and a 4 is the same stable is very cool but I would hope its a very big stable

If you will track the car alot choose the 4.0.
If you do not care about high maintenance and residuals of the scud after tracking and driving as much as the 4.0 then choose the scud.
The 4.0 has some special stuff in the engine (and the RSR crank), but still looks a lot like a GT3 or GT3 RS.

Bosco42..
you cant possibly compare a turbo to a gt3.... they are totally different cars...
I for one think both cars serve their purpose... I think the SCUD's looks and performance is off the charts as is the or will be the 4.0's...
but to me its honestly that F1 gear box that pisses me off... I just cant deal with flipping paddles to change gears.... I am a true manual gear box guy....
I totally understand that some people like/love the F1 but it simply isnt for me... i just love the driver involvement in the 3 pedals...

let see the lsd of 4.0 RS can handle how many track miles before broken down...
these type of so called limited edition is really a rip off, don't treat it as the Mclaren F1 or Enzo.Porsche will produce as many limited editions as they can nowadays!
