I think Ben is right. All the remaining CGT orders at my dealer have gone "unchangeable" in the ordering computer.

All the goodies I got were obtained while my order was still "flexible". It now appears that no more flexibility is available for the remaining CGT build-out for the USA.

Even if it were still possible to change CGT orders in the pipe (which it isn't), pearl-effect white was specifically outlawed as a paint-to-sample color due to some difficulty with the necessary chemistry.

Might still have a chance...

Hey Arling,

It might still be possible...but u better act fast. As of Monday, our CGT was still listed as changeable in the computer and our production date is June. Don't know if that was a glitch or what not. However, Ben and Mike should be right as all US orders had to be confirmed by the end of February per a Porsche bulletin. Hey, but if you really want a white CGT, won't hurt to head on down to your dealership and try.

Cheers,
-Nick

Nick,
i think i'm pretty good in color & hardly make mistake. even though i think it's for sure going to be hot but i'm not gonna take the chance on a 450k car due the white is not easy to take care of.

just a wild thought... i really want to see one!

booo, can't you do custom colors (lambo/ferarri, etc) Doesn't lambo make a pearl white?

I think that yellow/orange lambo pearl make look good as well

WOW...

AWESOME Photoshop job Bumble. White looks great.

HotRod...yeah, custom colors are possible. $15,500 and approval from Porsche. It sucks...even internal Porsche colors NOT classified as standard on the CGT will set you back $15,500 and considered as "paint to sample." Quite a rip off.

Regards,
-Nick

end of february (or march 1st) + 6 months coincides with the 7/05 last US build date, eh.

Yup...right Ben. Just figured if Arling really wanted something, he should give it a try. As of Monday, our order was still changeable although per the bulletin and logic, it shouldn't be. So Arling still might be able to find something with a production date of July and change it.

problem is i have arling set up to pay $416k and he's likely to not only pay the $15k upcharge for the paint, but also the $448.3k sticker if he has to work with someone else who won't likely discount (nearly as aggressively). iow, that paint job will likely cost him $47k ($448-$416+15). i don't think he wants white that badly
