Hey guys i am so confused and almost worried. My oil level indicator shows that it is low... My last oil change was 1k miles ago and I tracked the car 1 time after that.. The bar is at the low point and blinking. I added 1 qt and obviously it went up a little at the time. But after 200 miles it dropped again. I don't have leaks anywhere. I've heard that the gt3 an Porsche in general are notorious of burning oil but didn't expect to loose that much. Anyone else had this issue or concern.

Something is not right. Have it checked out. It shouldn't consume that much. Here is the proper way to check the level.

 

The Mezger GT3 engine (.1 or .2) is NOT notorious for burning oil. Quite the opposite. Some other 911s do burn oil, i.e. the newer 9A1 can burn quite a bit. 996 turbos are known for this as are the .1 Carreras; 996 turbos more so, however not the NA GT3. None are a concern anyway. Something is definitely wrong, maybe a faulty sensor.

Be very careful about over-filling. I would get it to the dealer ASAP for a look. I'll bet it is not serious.
