Recommendation for brake pads

Hi all,

I'm currently driving a 997.1 GT3 with Brembo cup slotted rotors with Pagid RS29 yellow pads on stock calipers.

I mainly use my GT3 for street driving and find that the pads are not really that effective at street running temperatures. Most of the time I have to stomp quite hard to get the car to brake at street limit speeds.

Can anyone recommend me an alternative pad? How about the Pagid black? I would prefer a pad with a high initial bite.

Which endless pads do you recommend for the track? My car sees the track 85-90% of the time and I am currently using Pagid RS29.

Just go back to stock pads for the street. If you use an endurance track pad that needs substantial heat to be in the peak torque zone you won't have the cold bite of a street pad. Even Pagid black has an operating temparature that is farther from abient than street driving gets you.

Himself is absolutely right on target. Go back to stock street pads. Race pads need lots of heat that you will never ever get on the street to get the bite you need. On top of that Pagid Yellows are not a high initial bite pad even on the track. Stock street pads are what you need for streetbdriving, even spirited street driving.

I am extremely impressed with endless pads and the Endless 650 fluid. Ran Pagid Yellow P90 pads with Motul 600 fluid before and there is no comparison. Much firmer pedal now with endless and no noise..

I'd suggest going back to stock, but to be honest, I have the same setup that you have and the brakes stop just fine in normal street driving, sometimes just because they squeek I will stomp to heat them up, but they do stop fine either way

Pagid RS29's are not really good anywhere, street or track, IMO.

I've been using Pagid Yellows on the track for years. I've tried out the Performance Friction PFC97 and PFC01. Both the PFC pads have great bite but they have some serious problems for street cars.

1- they really transfer a lot of heat to the caliper

2- they are very hard on rotors, despite what Performance Friction says...the 97 and 01's eat rotors quickly

3- compared to Pagids the Performance Friction pads are more like a on/off swithc and modulating the brakes is a lot harder to do. Although I could get use to the incredible bite the PFC pads have I can't deal with the issue in 1 & 2 above.

I forgotten to mention that I have upgraded my rotors to the Brembo type III together with Pagid RS29s:

The stock pads will not work for this rotor??

Absolutely they do... you just need to notch/machine them in a certain spot since they're narrow annulus Very easy to do or you can buy them pre-done that way. Any of the pagids that is...
