Next gen 991 GT3 RS 600 hp??!!

If you wait until the 991RS, you’ll be happy for a few months and then feel bummed when you read about how much better the “facelift” version is right around the corner. Or by the time that comes, perhaps you’ll wait a little bit more and buy the facelift version instead, and then be bummed when you read about how much better the 99?GT3/RS is going to be just as you are now wrt to the 991RS.
Two to three years is a long while to wait IMO and a lot could happen. You might decide you don’t like the 991RS (newer isn’t always better as the new M5 shows us – it has lost its magic IMO). Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if electric powered cars start to eclipse IC power cars in terms of performance. For me, my recent 3.8RS purchase might be my last IC powered car purchase so I’m going to enjoy the heck out of it before saying “so long dinosaur”. While enjoying it, I'll patiently wait for the future to see what it holds. If I like what I see, I'll do something about it then.
Putting off a decision to buy so you can get the next best thing is an exercise in futility because there’ll always be something new right around the corner. You’ve got a 4.0! Not a lot of people can say that. Be happy and enjoy it.
Oh, finally, this is of course an academic discussion because 12/21/12 is just a little over a year away and then everything ends anyway.

How are they gonna give it 600hp, how big does a flat-6 NA have to be to make that power and even if they could, how would the reliability be? Don't tell me there's going to be a flat-8 GT3, that's blasphemy. Or maybe a turbo, which is pointless, the whole point of the GT3 is the NA flat-6. I thought the 4.0 having 500hp was crazy but the next RS having 600hp? No way. Even if they could they wouldn't do it, they'll always save their tech for the next generation. It's all about revenue, do you really think they produce the best they can? No, they produce awesome cars but hold back so when they make a 991.2 there's room to grow. It's not like they're bad people, it's just good business. I can see the next GT3 making 450-480hp and the GT3RS 500-530hp.

Thank u everyone for your input and for dealing with my neurotic indecision re the upgrade to the 4.0RS. I've been deliberating over this for months. But the 4.0 is coming in 3 weeks, and I am going to receive it with the dignity and excitement it deserves and not look back!!
