F430 to '11 GT3RS?

I have been thinking of trading my F430 for '11 GT3RS. Has anyone made the trade? Do you lose any of the daily drivability? Although the 430 is an incredible car, I feel the GT3 RS may be more involving due to the 6 speed. Thanks for your input.

My brother sold his manual transmission 2006 F430 and got a 2010 GT3, not an RS though. I feel there is no downside doing this. The GT3s are daily drivable, even the 996 version which I drove yesterday on stock suspension. The 997 series, be it .1 or .2 GT3s (I don't know the RSs as I haven't driven them) are perfectly drivable every day. Both the Ferrari and the GT3 are involving cars but I am comparing a manual F430 to a GT3... most F430s came with F1 transmission so maybe a GT3 is more involving then, IMHO.

Have you had a chance to test drive a GT3RS yet? I chose the RS over buying a 430. I love Ferrari and drove the 430 but the RS becomes part of you. It really is exhilarating on the street as well as the track. One of the things I love is the ability to drive it daily. I have the front axle lift so that is a big plus. I can't stress enough of how connected one becomes with the GT3RS. The more miles I've put on it the better it sounds. The car is astonishing and completely intoxicating. I actually drive my RS daily much more than my turbo. The RS makes you realize why Porsche has been so successful in racing... Take your cheque book on that test drive! :-). Let us know what colour you get.. :-)

If it's for an RS 4.0, then it should be a no-brainer as the collectible status on that car will ensure it's long-term value as the ultimate 997. If its for an RS 3.8 then I think a thorough test drive is in order. While I'm definitely a Porsche guy, there is no denying that the F430 is a very special car in it's own right, and perhaps it's just time for a change for you? Regardless of what you choose, either car is sensational!

I have driven a F430, owned and sold a tts for a GT3 RS, and could not be happier. The GT3 is in another league on it's own. If you are looking for a raw and more involving car, look no further. If you are planning on test driving a GT3 make sure you are ready to buy, otherwise you will loose sleep until you are really ready.
Let us know what you decide.

Thanks for everyone's input. I was considering a '11 GT3RS 3.8. I have driven the car and absolutely love the power band. I still cannot get over the size and look for the rear wing on the RS. I have driven the '11 GT3 (non RS) and felt the car was as enjoyable. Maybe I'd be happier with the non RS GT3.

I'm sure the rear wing of the 997.2 RS would grow on you, and if it didn't you can unbolt it and run around with the ducktail look too.
