Yes, but it takes a beating and keeps on ticking. I never put a tape measure to it, but I would say 1/2 to 3/4" lower than OEM stock.

yes it is...I feel your pain Mr B. I was also plaqued with the issue of a driveway with too steep a grade from the curb beginning from the street. This constant rubbing, has been the case with my GT3 with cup lip up until recently. Originally 3yrs ago, I bought a set of Bridge It ramps- same as Griots but w/o freight cost. I bought the 2 ends and a center piece. Stupid $ around 400.00 bills. You either have to mount it permanently at the street (and it does work very well)or ditch the center and carry both the 2 end pieces to the street. It is too heavy otherwise (made out of recycled tires). A major PITA IMHO to haul these to the street everytime to drive my pcar and then put up out of site. I did this for 2.5 yrs...So I and some other neighbors started discussing possible new pavement from our county with our HOA. The road was 17 yrs old and had slight issues. We got them to pave the entire subdivision and I had them permanently fix the stupid dip from the curb to my driveway/ I still can only back out a angle or the lip will rub...but thank goodness for the lip protector trick I learned here. Driving into the driveway at a angle is no issue. And there is no problem even with some slight rubbing..I swap out the door trim (that protects the bottom edge of the lip)every few months...no damage ever to my cup lip.
I have a complete Bridge It ramp set for sale to anyone that needs to have a solution for the too steep a grade or a driveway height issue ..

It is not just risk of theft, damage, etc. Long term, the elements will do damage.

Try this cheap mod. It will prolong the life of the lip.
