How to tie-down to a trailer?

I just bought my first open trailer and am wondering what the best way to secure my 996TT to it is.

Do I buy tie-down points from rennlist or someone like that?

Do I buy tie-down straps with axle wraps?

Do I simply loop through the wheels?

I am not concerned about the cost, and am willing to pay for convenience, but my primary concerns is not tieing down in a way the screws up my suspension.

Guidence needed. Thanks in advance

I simply use the holes in the factory jack points. Just pay for the ratchet straps and good to go.

wheel net with 3 tie down points on the trailer. 2 anchor points and 1 idler.

I always thought this method the simplest but never had the nerve to try it due to the thought that if strap loosened then hook would drop out. Then again, I've never had a strap come loose either.

This works for me (Macs Tie Downs - call them for a custom build) plus the Rennline tie downs... Works like a charm. Car in neutral, no parking brake.

Agree with others: Rennline jackpoint thingys. Also Macs tie downs, and I use the direct hook kit front and rear. Better clearance with the direct kit, and easier to ratchet down.

I don't like going through the wheels - too cumbersome and all the grit and clag at then end of a track day acts like sandpaper against even the softest strap padding.

rennline tie down/jack plate set:

http://www.rennline.com/Rennline-Fro...ctinfo/E32.04/

this does not include the e-track you see in the pics above - that was a nice trailer mod done by anotherswordfis on his Featherlite trailer.

the rennline product are tie down mounts that mount to the underside of the vehicle.

for tie down straps, most people like Mac's Custom Tie downs
