Cobra Seats - Anti-Sub Bar Guidance?

I'm preparing to install as set of Cobra Suzuka seats and cobra side mounts in my '07 GT3 and need some advice on a anti-sub bar that will fit. I plan on using the factory sliders. Does anyone have experience with this install who can share what worked for them? I'm aware of the BK and factory alternatives, but would appreciate first-hand feedback from someone with the same set-up.

Also, any install advice is appreciated.

Thanks - Dave

NorthVan - thanks for the feedback!

I've done a little more research and don't think the factory sliders will work, so I'm looking at Sparco universal sliders. VAC Motorsports makes a bar to attach the eyelets without drilling through the floor as an option I'm considering.

Why's this? I'm also getting Suzukas and was thinking of using factory sliders.

Check out this reference from Brey-Krause (997/987 Slider Compatibility):

http://www.bkauto.com/porsche/997_sl...patibility.php

My 997 GT3 seats are like the example in the first picture and won't work. 996 manual sliders are noted as being compatible in the link above.

If you know where I can get 996 sliders, let me know.

Oh, I didn't notice that you have a 997. Mine's a 996 and I sold the seats without sliders.
(Buyer wanted to chance his red zillion-way electrically adjustable comfort seats to black sport ones. So he bought mine, changed black sport seat's cushions and leather to his seat frames with adjustment mechanics and used complete sport seat's backs.)

New set of two sliders is around $400,-. IIRC... Sometimes there are ones for sale at ebay too.

Something to consider, if you attach your belts to the seats and you seat breaks free, what is keeping you in place? All of my belts are mounted to the floor of the car, with the proper reinforcements. It is a mod I never want to use.

Great point NorthVan - I appreciate the perspective! Did you install one or two eyelets per seat?

Get an FIA seat first. Sorry, but why go through the trouble of adding more safety stuff when the seat you are starting out with is not FIA approved?

Thomas - Get your facts straight first. The seat is FIA homologated to 8855-1999. You are likely confusing COBRA with Corbeau.

Two for the sub mount, one each for the lap belts, and the shoulder goes to the roll bar
