GT3: 997.1 vs 997.2
Hi guys.
Been researching and shopping for a either .1 or .2 Gt3. Obviously, .2 is a bit more refined and has little more electronic updates but any clear advantage vs pricing difference? (worth the extra $)
I found some 2010 Gt3 with 20k+ miles on it. Tracked or not, what are some of the things I should think about replacing for maintenance on higher mileage cars vs lower millage cars (usual wear and tear parts)
WHat would you guys get? miles vs price vs .1 or .2
Thanks for reading.

Have you driven both .1 and .2? Ya, I think that 20k difference is a lot of mods you can do
#4
Moton's
4.0 Ring and Pinion and
All rubber suspension bits replaced with Porsche Motor Sports (Cup Car)
PCCB rotors replaced with AP Racing Rotors
LWFW
And a lot more, the Previous Owner Dropped $45K in mods (I have the receipts) and this is a well sorted car for low 80's. I have a friend that has a 07RS, with the same mods to his car, and a pro driver drove his and a 2011 RS (with some suspension upgrades) and the pro driver said the 07 was a faster car.
The electronics and 15-35 extra HP are not going to make up more then 1 second if that, the mods that you could put the extra 20K in will make the .1 as quick or quicker then the .2.
It sounds like your mind is made up, so buy the 2010, they are amazing cars.

the only concern that I would have, is how much to replace when they break
#7
Not sure on replacement costs, but it is a $1,300 option when new with the build. So, I would imagine it will be reasonable...

PCCB's are a $6000 option, yet new rotors cost $12K per set, I think that they will be pricey replacements.
#9
Oh, I meant the DEMS. Its a $1,300 option when ordered with the GT3.2.

I know, I am using the PCCB costs as a reference for what the DEMS will cost, the sum of the parts is always more then the whole!

Well the .2 does not have a sunroof...
And it has a 3.8
Short of those two items, I do not see a clear advantage for the price delta
The delta on equivalent cars is $20k+
Same gearing in both
Same weak LSD in both
Both require the same mods for track work
So as north van has done - I would buy a .1 and never look back

The .2 RS though had me going for a bit. I even ordered the custom license plates expecting to drive one home last year, but decided to wait instead...
