Close to buying my first Porsche (GT3)...
#16
I have driven both and I like the GT3 on the steet better than the turbo just because it is what it is no matter if it's on the track or on the street. My wife says it is an "angry" car and I am not sure I could have decribed it any better. The turbo is great, but not "angry".
To each his own.....my $0.02.

Last minute decisions...
Would you stay away from a CPO 2010 GT3 where the Carfax shows (3) previous owners and that the transmission was removed for a repair?
See this car: http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...nal&listType=1
I was originally looking to get this car before I decided on the red GT3. However, I spoke to a friend and he said it's normal to see multiple owners on a car like this. I've always consider it be 'bad' when there are too many owners on a car like this. As far as the transmission needing to be removed for a repair, is this a normal thing with Porsche's?

Go GT3! Just be prepared to fall in love and take it out of daily duty. I have a .1 997 GT3 that took me a while to find and could not be happier. There are better street manored cars out there but the GT3 offers a very raw and pure experience that others just can not supply!
Do it!!
Do it!!

Gt3
If the OP(MistaVanquish) hasn't bought one yet I would encourage him to be patient. Winter is approaching and track season ending so more may be available. Keep doing your due diligence and get the PPI, and realize if you plan to primarily track it that a well cared for one with the harness bar, 6 pt and appropriate seats have "real" value for the track. If the purpose is a weekend, occasional track car then your "ideal" car may differ. The .2 may be a better daily driver but it depends on your budget. Good luck.
