GT3RS Akrapovic system & Warning Light
Hello Everyone.
I am about to pull the trigger for Akrapovic exhuast, evolution race system for 997.1 GT3RS.
I understand some members on the board already put the system on the car.
I communicated with sponsor member in this forum and warning light (CEL) can be activated.
Based on the explanation, it sounds like it is a hit or miss case.
I would love to hear actual experience from the members here for any warning light issues.
The car currently has no ECU tune and not planned to have one at the moment.
Any inputs will be greatly appreciated.

I assume there is a high chance of triggering CEL, is ECU tune the only solution for CEL?
Thank you in advance.

Yes headers, anything ahead the cats, (after cats) won't cause any problems.
The CEL is not a problem either, is just emissions related. Just annoying and maybe a problem in some states.
Tune is most likely the solution. I heard of some people trying to use O2 spacers, but I haven't seen them working properly in a GT3.
Hope I could help.

I do understand it is just emission related issue, however it will be very annoying to have the light on.
I am going to find out about the O2 spacers you have mentioned.
Hope it can be a solution for the issue.

Agreed on the annoying part. The CEL can take 30-50 miles to come up, but eventually will, in most cases.
You can always try. I believe FVD sells a spacer. Call Rhonda, they are a site sponsor, she's always very helpful.
Here is a link for an option: http://www.fvd.net/de/en/Porsche-0/9...r_Minicat.html
