Shortly after purchasing my first GT3 in 2005 I joined MSR Houston. My first day at the track I saw a factory white 996 Cup Car tearing up the track - owner and car would later go on to win SCCA Nationals.

I remember my reaction to the car, and I remember thinking "I will own a Cup Car one day".

Apparently that day was yesterday. I am the proud owner of a 2009 GT3 Cup Car! Unfortunately, The Drivers Edge is at my track and I can't drive the car until Monday. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve and cannot wait to get in the seat.

Did one 30 minute session today to break in new gearbox. This car instantly reminded me why I fell in love with the track and P cars to begin with! Permagrin all the way home.

The most telling thing about a Cup Car? My heart rate was higher in the Cup Car sitting in pit before going out than when going 224.8mph at The Mile a week ago.

Thanks. Random flying foot belongs to my instructor and track manager, casually sitting in his chair telling me all I had done wrong on a break in lap.
