I think 12-13 compression ratio is the ball park figure and I think us N/A guys should go with the titanium rods.

I don't think we will have an issue with oil pump clearance if we stick to 4.2 which will be more like 4 and a half litres in real terms.

Hopefully this can come together

I agree with 12:1/13:1 comp ratio as we have descent fuel @ 98 RON readily available.

Also I have a machine shop and competent machinist at work.

Jay,

You have me getting really excited

If we can get the machine dimensions and math correct then using your machine shop and machinist would be a huge bonus.

Then Andy can work his magic with the engine builds

GT3s can run water\meth kits to achieve high octane to allow higher timing which will make the higher torque\power. Can run 50\50 water to air and should be pretty close to 100 octane depending on the jetting.

I have done this before but its only really practicle for motorsport/track day cars or weekend worriors not daily drives. The few BHP/Tq bump isn't worth the risk of knock although it does keep the engine internals looking like new at strip down.

Cheers

I love water\meth injection. I have used it in many cars and you are right its like steam cleaning your engine from the inside.

Have to say I'm with Jay on this one. I too have used it on my worked WRX and even though it was fun the extra cost of install didn't really justify the few extra ponies that came with it. Great for turbo cars were it can be set to boost if you're chasing every last pony and are looking to win the BHP competition, but I think us N/A guys can do without it.
A well built 4.2 that we can tune should give us 500+ hp anyway.

Getting 500+ would be nice but I think ~485bhp is the realist target.

Thanks

Hey... its not stock and I have plans for a complete revamp! :O)

If its a game of who has the biggest toys...

Anyway theres some very well know projects that have a fortune and every trick sunk in them that just get close to 500 and I'm not willing to go that mad (this time lol). If I get hung up on power again I'll go the GT2 RS route.

Cheers

If you get the details down, a respectable builder lined up, I may be interested in a GT3 build to 4.0L or so...
