Yeah, talking about the vacuum activated valves. Even when they were open I sometimes stood behind the car and the exhaust sounded uneven.

The only thing I could think of is one of the valves was loose and even when open was still being closed slightly from the exhaust gas flow causing the uneven sound and color on one of the tips.

I love a loud exhaust too which is why I went with the M&M

That's really interesting. I wonder if pulling the vacuum tube at the valve and hitting the valve with cleaner/ WD40 would help? If the discoloration is due to a partially opened valve that might free it up.

On a separate note, How does the sound of M&M compare to SW bypass?

Well when I took the SW bypass off and put the stock back on before the M&M was delivered I did exactly that by tapping both valves with a hammer and spraying them with lubricant which stopped the rattling and after a few hundred kms of driving around I didn't notice any uneven color on the stock pipes. But I was putting the M&M on anyway so I didn't look into it too much.

How does the M&M compare. Like day and night Loud all the time. No for everyone. Go onto the Champion 4.2 build of Ranger's orange rs and have a listen to the videos. Music to my ears

Well, I guess we have a next step for HarmonyJim! I'll try that on mine as well.

I will check out the website you mentioned. Apparently we like the same "music"

Worth a try, after years of opening and closing and dirt etc it can only help.

Took it down to the dealer today, and they put it on the factory magic box. The fuel trim was so incredibly close, they didn't bother to change it. I will have to call them regarding if the muffler valves could have a part in it and not show up on their device.

Give it a go with the wd40 and a small hammer around the valves and make sure everything appears connected up properly. Seemed to work for me when I took the SW pipe off to sell it and put the stock exhaust back on.

Now you know it's not a fueling issue it can only really be an issue with the exhaust gases not coming through one side as much as the other. As I said before I don't have an issue with it anymore now that I have a valveless exhaust.
