Grinding noise from 2010 997.2 GT3RS
All of a sudden my RS has this loud grinding noise when:
- turning right forward slowly.
- turning left backward slowly.
Did not try to drive over 5mph.
So loud that can't figure out where it comes from!
Seems fine going straight!
Seems fine on brake.
The sound progressively getting worst in just couple minute!
Also find a half inch groove on the rear left brake rotor, but the sound doesn't seem come from there!
Any idea?

The bearing worn out, then the wheel started moving very slightly and touch the caliper slightly.
The bearing totaly worn out in less than 40km.
Never track the car, only 13500km on the clock, not aggressive drive style, all factory spec..

I have to pay for myself, as:
1. I have FVD header + GMG X-pipe, P factory won't honer the warranty, unless I re-install the OEM parts.
2. If I re-install all OEM parts + wait for the P factory, it may tken over one month for the warranty process.
Guess what, P center still on holiday.
I will call them on 3rd Jan.

Yes (GMG wheels), that and being driven on the track. Though as far as I can tell the wheels are to porsche spec, were torque to the latest spec and were of the same dimensions as stock wheels.
Interesting they also mentioned being serviced by a non-porsche dealer (all the required maintenance was done by a dealer including the original CL recall, other maintenance was done by a local porsche specialist). AFAIK this basically says do your own or use a non-prosche dealer and risk you warranty.
Honestly on sure how much of this is actually legal (I have consulted an attorney). The conversation always comes back to how much do you want to spend to fight it. Even in arbitration (as required by the warranty) you would need to hire experts to state why the aftermarket products are within the Porsche spec and likely the manufacture also (which maybe a problem if they do not want to go against porsche).
All in all changing anything on a GT3 is asking for trouble from a warranty standpoint.

As for mods and warranty, I remember asking my local dealer about coolant welds, they told me that it would void the engine warranty. The agreed welding was the best solution, but could not cover it if another failure occurred. Porsche does make some nice cars, but also has some issues. Sorry for your issue, hope it works out for you. My car doesn't have a warranty, so I can mod away as I want.
