Short moment of shame...
I already said (and did) it in other threads: this is perfectly immature and useless, but my Michelin PS2's have to go this week to be replaced by PSS's so I thought I'd check if the GT3 really has that much grip

I am not very scientific about this, so "enough" gas is all I can tell (I do not really pay attention, you just feel it) . Making the rear tires brake lose was I found a bit more difficult than I thought. If your are not quick and aggressive enough, you will simply understeer and you will not even start to spin when you lift. This being said, if you are not ready to kill your tires (and nobody with a bit of common sense would do it... unless you are planning to replace them anyhow), don't do it. In a few minutes, I went from rear tires were tread wear indicators were showing it was time to replace... down to tires peeled to the fabric!
If your are looking for the missing rubber, here it is:
Now some silly people may believe that these marks have been left by a UFO over the week end...

OK guys, now crucify me
Let's cut through the chase: the GT3 is sold! Or in fact traded in for a new nicely loaded 991S.
Driving back from TN to GA through the Southeast storms this week, the GT3 got a power steering failure (hose, valve, pump...). Still drivable of course, but I wander what would have happened if the failure had taken place in turn 5 or 10a at Road Atlanta for instance. In know this is unusual and is not representative of Porsche's outstanding quality and reliability and that the dealership will take care of it just fine, but still, this was a big bummer and kind of took a toll on my confidence in the car. In addition, driving the car back through the mountains on twisty roads under very heavy rain and winds did not inspire me a lot of confidence either. I do not care if there is no PSM for the track, but for more extreme conditions, -where the driver is not the major risk factor- the 991 performs a lot better and safer. I do long distance travels throughout the year in all kinds of weather conditions and initially thought the GT3 would handle it just fine but I was mistaking (both about myself and the car ).
So enough for explanations -and excuses -. Life is about change and experiences!
All the upgrades I had put on the GT3 will be for sale soon (so stay tuned if you have interest in the mods I made)... and a new 991 thread will start soon.
As a teaser, here's a quick showroom pic of the new ride: 991S Guards Red with Aerokit Cup, PDCC and a couple of other niceties.
PS: Personal message for Sid: I am ready for a BIG sarcastic feedback from you about my complete inability to stay for more than a couple of months in the same car, bring it on!

It's not April Fools day is it? At least you gave it a shot. You have to be comfortable and confident in your car on the track or on mountain twisties.
If the weather is iffy I'll take the C4S out with the winter tires on here in the Pacific NW.
Going to track this saturday with the GT3 and next when the weather is in the 40s and may be drying up a bit. Will be having a full time coach/instructor as it is my first time out this season and am still learning this car. Rewards you with smooth inputs and balance; barks and snaps at you with poor technique. That's the challenge.
Good luck. On the 991GT3 list yet?

No April's fool!
Felt very good on the track, did not under severe weather conditions and long trips. Bad call on my side (plus the failure that made me question if the car will be as problem free as I hoped in the long run).
Do not think I needed to go to a C4S though.

I'm interested in the front DRL, and probably Dension, if it is easy to install, thanks.
