Just the plastic lower-front lip scrapes. I've never had the underside scrape.

The plastic front lip is pretty sturdy. It's not as soft as the plastic chin lips on the 911. I go very slow and scrape it all the time pulling into the garage nose first, and it doesn't look any worse for the wear. Recently, I started backing in, and there is only a whiff of scraping.

What it needs is a system to lift the car via a dash button when you need to overcome a driveway. I believe the Lamborghini Diablo had that several years ago. That would be the best solution.

Would 1 cm really make that much of a difference?

actually yes. most hits happen in that 10mm. but no way i'm going to raise it as i think the US car already look higher than it should.

This is my driveway...

I have indicated in the pic, where I scrape on my driveway. It doesn't even look that high or steep, but yup, I scrape. I'm scraping the carbon undertray...right about the middle of the car. The chassis is too long. Time to modify the driveway! <SIGH>

Cheers,
-Nick

Hey Nick I thought you were getting yours in NOV. 2005. They move up the production date because of the airbag issue?

Did the dealer hold you to MSRP?

Ouch! That's too bad. Well, at least the car is worth some concrete mods

Hi Nick! Yeah...they moved production up due to the airbag issue. No 2006s for the US market. No, I didn't pay MSRP.

Dean, might be time to move

Don't think that hasn't crossed my mind. It might be time to start an organization -- "sportscaraholics anonymous"

Grant me the courage to accept there are cars I cannot have, the serenity to live with the ones I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

On a serious note (and I hope changing the serenity prayer didnt offend anyone) WHO should I talk to about my driveway -- an engineer? an architect? I know this will invlove re-sloping the entire 25 foot long inclined portion from the street. I think I need it to end up looking like a ski jump, whereas now it looks like pretty much like a straight line that gets steeper at the bottom. (clearly, the last owner was a Jeep fan)

Dean,

Is a secure off-site storage facility out of the question?
