admit it, you would get PDK 991GT3 if it was an option and faster

So the Turbo would not be for people who do not like too much engineering.
Who cares about lap times? Porsche. And the thousands of people who mag-race, which eventually gives the GT3 an overall reputation.

I will take mine with pdk. I am moving forward with technology for cars I drive on the street and track. But I will always have a manual car around for fun and for my kids to learn to drive. I love to heal and toe and engage, but for everyday use the new wave of PDK transmission are the best of both worlds.

That is a big 'if'.

I would never buy and automatic (PDK, Tiptronic, two wheels driven buy a cracked out hamster, whatever) GT Porsche. A GT or any of its variants (2/3, RS, RS 4.0, whatever) should have three things; RWD, manual transmission, naturally aspirated. The only automatic Porsche I would drive would be a SUV or a sedan. And this is coming from a Nissan guy lol.

I'd disagree, unless it is applied to everything else.
For example(s):
More HP is for bragging rights only (for quicker 0-60 and 1/4 times)
Bigger brakes is for bragging rights (for better results on a mag test)
AWD is for bragging rights (for 0-60, and wet skid pad results)
Better tires are for bragging rights (more grip, to net better numbers everywhere)
Faster car is for bragging rights (because it does everything better, but for no apparent reason)
LSD is for bragging rights (allows unnecessary power to be applied to the ground, when we prefer to spin out and go slower)
Not even touching PDCC or SPASM.
Some of those just don't make sense. Show me a person who tracks, that is not concerned with speed (I'm looking for the person running a stock '90 Miata with Winter tires, that keeps RPMs below 2k), and we'll see a person who prefers not to go fast. Other than that a LOT of people are concerned with speed. Or would you suggest that people aren't concerned with it, even if only in a straight line for about 10 seconds?
Because if Porsche wasn't concerned about creating a track car with bragging rights - why didn't they just put the Boxster engine in the new 911? Is it because they wanted it to actually go faster, more consistently? Providing the driver experience maximum performance with more confidence?

I'll assume your comment is in jest, and perhaps those who put paddle shifters in cars don't always think the drivers have a lack of skill.
Unless, of course, you think F-1 drivers can't drive either, then I understand your comment.

That's exactly why they put paddle shifters in PASSENGER cars, to protect themselves from lack of skill. That's exactly why paddle shifters are going into all of the race cars, so rich guys with not much skill can call themselves pro racers. It's no faster than the same sequential with a lever, but apparently that was to hard for the noobs to reach over and push and pull a lever and have to rev match on downshifts. And now we have auto blippers and paddle shifts so they don't look like the noobs they are.
It's not coincidence that many paddle shift cars attract drivers with little skill and then help them develop even more bad habits. Cayman racing series drivers don't even bother, most all of them drive around in auto.

I feel the same way about ABS, LSD's, AWD, PDCC, improved shocks, stickier tires, larger rotors, better braking compounds, and a wing that deploys to increase downforce at speed, etc... Anything put in race cars (or sports cars) after 1995, is just to support those who can't drive.

Stay on topic, and quit drama queening. You don't feel that way about any of the stuff as one of the biggest GTR homers around.
Try going fast without all of the nannies, then get back to me........ and we'll talk about skill.

+1, gotta agree here with heavy, jasp you're going off the ranch, who's talking about abs and shocks? we're talking auto vs manual, what does that have to do with ABS??
